Alex MacLean
Pilot and photographer Alex MacLean provides us with photographs of divine views from above. He has flown his plane over much of the U.S documenting its landscape. From vast agricultural fields to city grids, MacLean is interested in recording changes in this landscape brought about by human intervention and natural processes. Through his art, MacLean examines the relationship between natural and constructed environments. The strange organic and geometric patterns he seems to capture are truly mesmerizing. Composing an image is hard enough when standing on solid ground - so I have the utmost respect for MacLean who captures such incredible images .... while flying an airplane.
