Gerard Edwards III

Gerard Edwards III is a New York based photographer who graduated from NYU. He's only in his mid-20s, and works with large format photographs. Edwards has studied under Gregory Crewdson since 2004.

Bellum (Hotel City) is my favorite work of his. It focuses on a southern town and its inhabitants with very cinematic images (ie Crewdson). The images speak to the idea of ones story. Edwards' inspiration for this work was from the societal questions of the 1970s and color photography of that era. These photos just speak volumes about the middle class.
